Tillamook State Forest

Sweet Sammy all tuckered out after an afternoon of fun.

The kids and I decided to get out of the house today and venture to Tillamook State Forest. I was keen on going there because the route to this destination is pretty straight forward, only takes about 45 minutes to get there, and has a river in which the kids and dogs could play in.

Being a workday for most of the population we had the river to ourselves almost the entire time we were there. The kids found a spot on the river where they could jump off of some rocks into a depth of about 6 feet. There was no current in this location and the water was calm and crystal clear. It was pretty cool.

My daring Elizabeth and my YOLO Josh(you only live once - which is his life motto) each decided to jump into the river with their clothes on because the water below was just too tempting. Andy, Sarah, and I dared not jump in for the water was very cold, the sky was cloudy, and we had no change of clothes.

The dogs had a blast romping through the water like they owned the place. We all had fun and was just kind of day we needed. We are heading back to Cannon Beach tomorrow as the weather there is supposed to be very good. We cannot resist the pull of the Pacific Ocean.

My crew.

This pictures describes what is going on in the picture above. I thought this was pretty cool.

I love the forest. So. Much.

Playing by the water with the kids.

Grabbing a big stick to make a dam.

Examining the water before they decide to jump in.

On her mark...

Get set...GO!

Thinking about it...

Climbing down to test the water temps...

Handing over the spectacles after deciding to jump...

Psyching himself up...

And going!

Swimming back to shore. Mission accomplished.
