Charlotte Pride Parade 2022

Six months or more ago Elizabeth let our family know she was gay. We let her know that we supported her, all 5 of us, and that we would always have her back - even against family members or friends who might not be supportive of her.

Elizabeth found out that Charlotte was having a Pride parade towards the end of August and wanted to go. Josh was not able to make the parade, but Andy, Sarah, Bobby, and I all came to show our support to Elizabeth.

When she told me that she was gay I immediately looked up youth groups that supported gay/trans/etc...kids. I knew that it would be important for her to have a support network outside of the 5 of us to bounce ideas off of, ask questions to, and share her experiences with. I found Time-Out Youth group and Elizabeth has been going there every opportunity she can to be with kiddos just like her.

Time-Out Youth group was how she found out about this parade and asked us if she could ride on the float that the youth group was making for the event. We, of course, told her that she could and ended up making an afternoon out of it.

We had a good time and look forward to this and other events that we can support Elizabeth at.
