Homeschooling 2022 - 2023: Week 1

We started our new homeschool year last week. We were going to start it the week before, but I wanted to scrub down the house first before I began a new school year, so we began it last week. This year is my last year homeschooling Sarah as she begins her senior year. Elizabeth is beginning her sophomore year.

We are continuing on with a lot of our habits from last year. The girls wake up at a set time and then we begin our day. Elizabeth works on what she can on her own and Sarah works on what she can on her own. Then we do shared subjects (such as writing and geography) and I help out the girls where they need it.

Last week we eased into things. Our first day we set expectations and put together the girls' binders. It was a pretty easy day. Tuesday we really began our week and delved into all of our subjects. The girls worked out some kinks in their days (like getting up on time and being ready). By the end of the week we were running pretty smoothly.

Someone doesn't like that we began our school year as this means less attention for him.
